Wellington Refliction
Early in the morning on Sunday we left Matawai to go on a long journey to Wellington. We stopped to Wairoa for a toilet break and to stretch our legs. “Everyone on the bus” Miss Dods said. We went for a run before we got in the bus. After the next stop we were in Napier for another toilet break and we headed off again. We got to watch 3 movies on the way to Wellington. We had watch Jurassic World, the Avengers and Star Wars.
On our way to Silver Stream resort in Wellington. Looking out the window, seeing people moving there animals. Seeing new things that I’ve never seen and really funny inspired messages and words. My favourite inspirational message such as Absolutely, Positively Wellington.
Here are some of my favourite parts on camp.
Going to Parliament for the first time and standing in the debating chamber and seeing the library after it had two fires.
Going to Te Papa and seeing the Gallipoli expertise and hearing about what they did in the war. Seeing what they made there bombs out of.
Going in to Weta workshop and learning about how much it is for a silicone arm which is $1
000 and a silicone nose is $150.
We got to see how they made the armor.
We got to hold some of the guns that they had made and they told us how they make them.
Walking into the zoo you can hear birds kakling animals moaning.
Walking around seeing animals that I have never seen in my life.
I got to pet a Emu and see in some of my favourite animals like the Tasmanian Devil.
Going to Zealandia was my highlight because I got to see a Tuatara and I learnt that Tuatara hydrate themselves through their skin.

Writing Reflection
We have been learning about Wellington.
My learning was about Weta Caves.
I research Weta Caves to learn many amazing facts. I created a piece of writing using my learning about Weta Caves.
Weta Caves Scare!!!
As I get closer and closer to Weta Workshop I hear monsters moaning and goblins chuckling. I see smoke emerging out from under the front door. Walking into the building I see a big, dark, black shadow that said “hello” I stand there like a stunned bird. He runs away and giggles like a little girl I look at Miss Dods. We walk in and we see a big eagle flying around and soldiers walking around like they own the show.
As we get deeper and deeper into the workshop, afraid of the characters running around I happened to look behind me and see a big spider. I try to tell Miss Dods and the class but they just kept on walking. I shout out, look behind you in a scared tone. They look and they run as fast a they can but… We run into a creepy kind of angel looking doll, I scream like a little kid, the class looks at me as if I am a 3 year old. We look back at the angel. She does a high pitched laugh and flys away.
We go in to where they created all of the statues. We look around one of the monsters wink at me and then he grabs my arm. I scream and start freaking out Miss Dods look at me like I am from a different planet. Miss Dods and the class keep on walking. I follow behind. I keep looking over my shoulder… I hear my name being called. I look but I can not see anyone, I hear it again but it is getting quieter and quieter. I run to the class and Miss Dods. We pass the big giants on our way out . One grabbed me by the arm and said “see you later” I tried to squirm out of his hands and run but he had a really good grip. I stop because it is a waste of time. He puts me down, I run out the door with a sense of relief to be finally out of there.
Imagine a night when you hear monsters moaning and groaning.
Imagine a night when smoke is emerging out from under the front door of Weta Caves.
Imagine a night when you see a big black dark shadow that talks to you.
Imagine a night when a large eagle soars through the building.
Imagine a night when we get deeper and deeper into the workshop, afraid of the characters running around.
Imagine a night when you run into a creepy kind of angel looking doll.
Imagine a night when you are looking around and one of the monsters winks at you.
Imagine a night you hear your name being called, looking but no -one is there.
Imagine a night,everything is getting quieter and quieter
Imagine a night when a monster grabs your arm and says “See you later.”
Imagine a night running out of the door with a sense of relief to be finally free.

Reflection for maths
In room 4 we are creating a piece of artwork that involves reflection and rotational symmetry.
We had to find out what reflection and rotational symmetry meant and we found out what they meant.
Reflection meaning: when a shape has been cut in half with the symmetry line.
Rotational meaning: using or relating to a circular movement.
My favourite part was making the shape that we used and coloured it in and making it symmetrical.

Today I earned the red belt.
I am aiming to get the black belt.
I found it hard to follow some of the instructions and to find what they were asking me to find.
I found it easy to find all the of the tabs that I use every day.

Collaborating with Gisborne intermediate
To day we are Collaborating with Gisborne intermediate. We are spending the the day with them. They are teaching us some of the things they do like Ultimate Frisbee. We had to make a paper a plane that had to include so bluetack and 4 straws , and Sellotape. They have a shop day to day to fun fundrais for there school.
- What did you enjoy? Learning what they do and walking around there shop day and to meat new people.
- What did you find hard? learning how to play Ultimate Frisbee the right way.
- What do you need to do next time?I would get stuck in a meat new people and have fun while I an there.

seeking help
Reflection stems:
We were learning how to copy and paste and how to react to trolls online.
I found it easy to make a poster and to give some good ways to help with trolls and haters.
I found it hard to write the sentence that would help other people to deal with trolls on line
I really enjoyed creating my art work that would help other people with trolls and haters.
Next time I need to work on how to enbed it.

Collaborating Online
We were learning how to
I really enjoyed making the slides and writing some inspiration messages.
I found it hard to do was making the sisomo slides and finding the music the sounds the best with it.
It was easy to create my emoji and trying to make my slides as interesting as I can.
Next time I need to ask for help and to persevere at it. It was a challenge but I did not give up I keep on working at it.
Sisomo is about getting sight, sound and motion into a digital learning object (DLO).

The Disaster.
Learning Goals.
To find the key information and to summarise the key facts, summarise the story in your own words and to not retell the story in your own words.What I liked the most:
I liked to find the key words and rewrite them in your own words. It was interesting to find new stories to read and summarise them and to learn new things each time I read the book.
What I found hard/frustrating:
I found it too hard to not retain the story and to summarise the story. It was hard to keep in the same tents and not to switch from the past and present.
What I Can Do Next Time/ difference:
Next time I will keep my writing in these tents and not keep switching from past and present. I well put the important information .

Logan Paul- actor
Logan Paul.
I have been studying the artist Logan Paul.
Our class has been researching artists in our world and summarising the key information.
Learning Goals: To get the key information and key facts that are interesting for summarising. Next was to put the facts in my own words.
What I liked the most: I like making the posters and putting all the detail in my writing so people can read it. I put a lot of detail into them so they don't get bored.
What I found hard/frustrating: I found it hard finding some of my facts. Some were frustrating because websites that I used would show the same information. I found it hard to try not to plagiarise, to put all the words in my own words and to keep it the same meaning.
What I Can Do Next Time/ difference:
I will try to get all my work done when the dead line has come. I will try to keep all my writing in the same tense and not to keep going to the present and the past.

Inquiry Term 2 Buffalo chops
Buffalo chops
At the break of dawn waiting anxiously, I sense a buffalo nearby, walking towards me. I try to blend in with the dry golden, rocky, African plains. The buffalo walks past, not expecting me here. I get ready to pounce on the fat, juicy Buffalo. The buffalo senses something strange. He stops and sniffs the air. This is my chance to get some fat, juicy buffalo chops. I pounce on the back of the buffalo and then.
I sink my razor sharp claws into the buffalo's back, as he tries to get me off his back. But I keep digging my claws in deeper and deeper. I dig my pearly white teeth into the side of his neck. Drops to the dusty, rocky track he lets out a bellow for help. The buffalo kept on kicking, so I tried to pin it down making sure he doesn't run away. I start ripping up the skin of the buffalo. I get to the fat juicy buffalo chops for dinner but...

Learning Goal: Is to add detail and hook in my reader so I can keep them entertained.
What I liked the most: I like to get words on the paper, I liked reading my writing and seeing it all come together. Looking at all of my editing, feed forward, and feedback from my classmates.
What I found hard/frustrating:
What I found hard was reading my writing, editing it, making a lot of changes and trying to keep it in the same tense. Trying not to switch from the past to now.
What I Can Do Next Time/difference:
Next time I will not try to reach the deadline, and try to get all of it done in one day and I kept on missing out the most important parts. I was not reading my writing and my writing did not make sense all my sentence were all over the place.

What I liked the most: I liked finding out new facts and things that were interesting and that i did not know about them.
What I found hard/frosting: I found frosting about my work was that some off the websites were that they would give me the same information or they would confuse me.
What I Can Do Next Time/ difference: I could improve on my recherche and finding more information, how could find facts fast and to not plagiarize.

Hi my name is Aleasha I am 12 years old. I play hockey. I live in the beautiful New Zealand. I go to the best school in Gisborne. I am in year 8 at Matawai School. I am in room four with the best teacher at school. I have two brothers.
I love writing. I am learning to use descriptive detail in my writing and to use different sentence structures. I am working towards knowing proper fractions.
When I get older I want to be a Black Stick and meet Jemma Flynn. I want to become a world famous hockey player.
My dream would to be to go to the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics Games. My family inspires me to do what I love and to be what you want. My Mum inspires me to play hockey.
